Q & A with Vanguard founder Mr. John “Jack” Bogle

I had the distinguished pleasure of meeting Mr. John “Jack” Bogle, founder of The Vanguard Group, at ACP’s 2014 Annual Conference. After lunch with Mr. Bogle and several colleagues, myself and fellow ACP member Chip Simon led a Q & A with the man named by Fortune magazine in 1999 as one of the investment industry’s four “Giants of the 20th Century,” and in 2004, Time Magazine named Mr. Bogle one of the 100 “Most Influential People in the World.”

Mr. Bogle has transformed the industry of investing like few others and has the position and fortitude to “tell it like it is,” something he earned through decades of hard work in the financial field. Quite frankly, we need more Jack Bogle’s in this world and I’m sincerely thankful for the opportunity to have met him. A prolific researcher and writer still today, his latest book The Clash of the Cultures: Investment vs. Speculation is available on Amazon.

The entire video is worth watching; however, it is quite long. Jump to minute 24:00 and you can listen to my first question following his introductory comments.
